When I was a small boy, I loved playing with my action men. Not the Palitoy Soldiers but the ones made by Marx. My action men have given me the fondest memories of any toy that I had. The lad across the street also had the same ones and we would take them out and have them doing things like climbing trees.
I don’t know what happened to mine, but I came across the same ones on eBay in excellent condition and I just had to buy them. The memories they evoke are so good.

I know this is strictly a Love Doll forum and I wasn’t going to post them. But then I thought, perhaps some of the 12” BJD or other small female dolls might be looking for a guy! 🤣
So, here they are.
They came with a number of appropriate items of cowboy clothing and knight’s armour, but I haven’t gotten around to putting anything on them.

Don't remember those when I was a lad. I had dozens of green army men though, and later G.I. Joe. I can still remember the look of disappointment on one of my older sister's faces when she lowered Joe's trousers. 🤣

Think I had Johny West for Christmas in about 1968 and the gold Knight in about 1970

Action Man was a licensed clone of GI Joe made for the UK by Palitoy and later on Hasbro. I had a couple of Palitoy versions as a kid and Mini LT (below) is a Hasbro version I bought a couple of years ago.

Thanks, TLT. I wondered where those Joe variants I keep seeing on eBay came from. Wish I still had some of my originals. Especially the Kubelwagen. I could have retired a lot sooner! 😄

I had an Action Man. I think he was a commando version with an inflatable landing craft that had a battery operated outboard motor. He got involved with my sister and her friends Sindy dolls and got married. I didn't get to play with him much.

I always wanted the helicopter that had the winch. I could have mounted a daring rescue mission with it and saved him from the clutches of the Sindy dolls.

I had the armoured car with one of mine at some point; can't remember which version after all this time.

I had the helicopter. My sister was 6 years younger, didn't stop her from seeing how it flew from a fourth floor window onto a concrete patio AND I got in trouble for not looking after my toys.

Here's my little Quimby. She still looks great for a 40 year old. As I remember, Cabbage Patch Gals were a pretty hot item back then. It was close to Christmas and they were getting hard to find. My local retailer had a limited supply and had jacked up the price accordingly. Capitalism at it's finest.

When I saw that face though, I had to have her and plunked down my coin...
Unfortunately none of my old G.I. Joes survived the test of time. Nowadays though, I have these guys, Hans and Erich. Way better head sculpts and far better articulated bodies, but somehow they're just not as much fun as my Joes were.

Yeah did they come with adoption papers and their name too. I seem to remember there was other bits she came with. I think my Sisters ended up at a jumble sale or car boot sale, as my Sister got older and went on to boys😄

Quimby was a special edition they offered for awhile. World traveler or something like that. She came with a birth certificate and a US passport indicating she had recently been to China, England and some other countries. I remember when that edition came out, people were taking them on real trips and trying to get their play passports stamped.

That looks Cool😄 yeah i used to have a Eagle Eyed Action Man. I used to play with him with my mates down the forest in my youth, building bases. I always wanted the special edition Moonraker figure, when the film came out. I was about 8/9

Yeah - loved my Action men, Steve Austin, and Evel Kneivel dolls as a youth
I tried and tried but never managed to break them with all the jumps and parachute flights I set up for them

I remember my Mum knitted some jumpers and gloves for them. I think they were the only clothes that she ever knitted for us that actually fitted when she finished making them as my sister and I grew out of everything else Mum ever knitted before she had finished lol
